The Asian Black Bear and BONATRANS: Together for the Second Year

3.6.2026

BONATRANS GROUP a.s. continues to support nature conservation and biodiversity.

For the second year in a row, we have been an adoption partner of the Asian black bear at Zoo Ostrava, contributing to its breeding, care and the development of the zoological garden.

Animal adoption is one of the ways in which companies and individuals can support the activities of Zoo Ostrava and actively contribute to the protection of endangered species. Financial contributions help ensure high-quality animal care, the development of animal enclosures, as well as educational activities focused on nature conservation.

The Asian black bear, also known as the Himalayan bear, is one of the charismatic inhabitants of Zoo Ostrava. Zoo Ostrava has long been involved in breeding this species as part of European conservation programmes. In 2024, the zoo further strengthened its breeding of this species with the arrival of a young male, who found a new home in the spacious forest enclosure of the Chitwan exhibit.

Supporting projects focused on nature conservation is an important part of our company’s corporate social responsibility.
