BONATRANS supplies its products to 80 countries worldwide and has prepared a similarly wide array of educational experiences for the top students from selected partner schools.
From October 9th to 13th, Prague hosted the World Engineers Convention, which is the most significant global gathering occurring every four years on various continents. The convention brings together engineers, technicians, students, political representatives, industrial stakeholders, media, and other people interested in science and technology. The number of participants can reach up to 6,000 from 100 different countries, with the organizers of WEC 2023 aiming to surpass 3,000 attendees. The theme of the convention revolved around humanity's sustainable development, as expressed in the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) for the year 2030. A significant component of the WEC 2023 congress was industry, cutting-edge technologies, quality management with regard to energy and the environment, and engineering education.
BONATRANS offered the schools it collaborates with the opportunity to participate in the convention’s student program. In total, 45 students and teachers from the following schools participated: Bohumín Secondary School, Bohumín Grammar School, Zengrova Ostrava Secondary Technical School, Vítkovická Secondary Technical School, Ostrava Secondary School of Transport and Technology, Karviná Grammar School, Karviná Secondary Technical School, and DAKOL Secondary School. We participated in presentations from tech companies, explored the winning projects of Secondary School Students’ Professional Activities, visited stands from institutions like the Czech Technical University (ČVUT), iQLANDIA, companies such as Honeywell and ČEZ, where we used VR glasses to embark on a virtual tour of the Temelín nuclear power plant, and visited a stand dedicated to the Baťa phenomenon, among other activities.
